Mount Rainier at dawn was captured in the first week of October 2012. The weather condition was perfect with not a cloud in the atmosphere. One has to get up early in the morning to capture a scene like this, and hope something magic is going to happen. I had a 3 photo sequence of the scene, but the other 2 were lacking in the large number of birds and I was zoomed in closer to the mountain before the brilliance of the halo of the sun actually appeared much farther to the right than I had anticipated. The 3rd image had the real sun disk appearing and the mountains silhouette was hardly visible in the haze.
